Introduction to Virtual Shield
Virtual Shield is a decent VPN service based in the US that provides great speeds and is overall a reliable offering for anyone wanting a fast VPN for personal or business use. This VPN is multi-platform and will allow you to use it on up to 3 devices. In this review of Virtual Shield we put it through it’s paces so you don’t have to and to help you decided whether this is a good vpn option for you.
Performance
Virtual Shield has servers in 12 countries (US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, India, Japan & Serbia) and their speeds were all very reliable and the connection was stable.
If you are looking for a VPN to bypass content restrictions for Netflix you will need to add another package to your subscription (9.99/mo) which we consider a bit much, as this ability is standard with most other VPNs. So if you want to use Netflix, try NordVPN and read our review on NordVPN & Netflix.
Security
Security wise, Virtual Shield uses up to 256bit encryption to keep your traffic encrypted and safe while you are using their VPN service. The windows desktop apps support TCP, UDP and L2TP protocols. Their macOS and android apps support the TCP & UDP protocols which are both very secure.
Being a decent VPN company they respect your privacy and don’t keep any logs whatsoever, so you can be sure your browsing is private and untracked.
Virtual Shield Pricing
Like almost every other VPN company on the market they offers several plan types. Firstly they offer Personal and Business plans which serve different purposes. Plans start off for 5.99/month if you go for the 12 month pay in advanced pack and if you pay monthly you’re looking at 10.99, which is a bit on the pricy side.
Support
Overall is Virtual Shield worth it?
Virtual Shield is a decent VPN service albeit a little bit more on the expensive side than equivalent offerings from competitors, but as they say you do get what you pay for and in our experience it’s a decent VPN for sure. You can give it a go risk free as they offer a 30 day free trial so why don’t you go ahead and give it a shot!
If you are looking for a VPN that offers Netflix unblocking try ExpressVPN or NordVPN.
